Technology based on the use of plaster powder dispersed in uniform and thin layers above the other. In each layer, printheads disperse a crystallizing material that glues and hardens the plaster powder. Finally, a rigid body is formed into a powder that has not been hardened. The crystallizing material contains colored ink and enables printing of colored models.

The unused powder supports parts during printing and prevents the need for designated support structures. Therefore, models of complex geometries can be produced in gypsum printers without the need for support.
